Book Launch - Rebecca miles henson
The Cracks We See Through
Rebecca is excited to announce the launch of debut novel, The Cracks We See Through, which will take place on 15th February 2025, from The Canopi/The Sustainable Studio.
Life is colourful, and full, and wild. In a world brought to its knees, we are thriving. We eat well, we play, we grow, we love. We are happy. For as long as I can avoid thinking about her, I can see the beauty.
The world as we know it has devolved into violence. Society has crumbled. Riots, mass murder and destruction are rife.
After escaping the violence of London, Anya hides away on an isolated Welsh island with her husband, daughters, and dog. Life is idyllic—as long as she doesn’t look too closely at all she has lost.
Thousands of miles away in the Middle East, Niamh is struggling to find her way home to the UK. In a world with limited transportation and communication, she finds refuge in a walled city run by women. But the security of the walled city is a cover for a much darker secret that hides beneath the surface.
As cracks begin to appear in Niamh’s safehouse, Anya too must face the imminent collapse of the walls she has built to keep her family safe. Borders are reopening, threatening the seclusion of her isolated life. Faced with the possibility of more violence and death, Anya must make a decision that will shake her family to its core.
From debut novelist Rebecca Miles Henson,The Cracks We See Throughis a story of home, of hardship, and of finding love and light in the darkest of places.
In addition to celebrating the book, the event will showcase artwork from two distinctly different artists. Chris Williams (@chriswilliamsartist), whose lino print of the Llanddwyn Lighthouse has adorned Rebecca's wall for the past four years—and is the very location in which Anya’s story unfolds—is one of Chris' most well-loved works.
Joining him is Susan Vaughan Williams (@susanvaughanwilliams), whose vibrant, abstract, and beautiful work will also be displayed. Rebecca feels incredibly fortunate to have their art sharing the space at this special event.
The Venue is on the ground floor and features an accessible toilet. Please email us at hi@thethesustainable.studio if you have any questions relating to access.
