Growing up in Nigeria, Taiye was surrounded by rich traditions, with memories of his mother wrapping her gele with pride or the vibrant red hues of celebratory attire. These memories became anchors to her roots, even as she moved to Wales in pursuit of a new life. In Wales, Taiye discovered parallels in resilience, passion, and symbolism, reflected in the red dragon of the Welsh flag.

The book captures this interplay between tradition and adaptation, showcasing striking portraits of individuals who, like Taiye, navigate the duality of preserving their heritage while embracing new identities.
